"From 1973 to 1999, the MUMPS Development Committee (MDC) was the custodian of a compelling vision of a simple, powerful, portable medical programming system defined by a community-driven, continuously evolving standard, to improve healthcare for humanity. "That vision unites us and moves us to act. We are the chair and vice-chair of the MDC; we are die-hard members of the MDC and the greater MUMPS community; and we are a new generation inspired by the MDC’s twenty-seven-year track record of excellence in the pursuit of that vision. "Our name is MDC Task Group 19: Reconstitution. We have been working anonymously and informally for fourteen years to prepare for this moment. As our first formal act, we declare our self-constitution as the new, nineteenth task group of the MDC.
