Good day to all.

I'm looking forward to learning more on MUMPS and how I can apply it to my current job at the Veterans Administration, where I am a data manager for pulling data for research projects.

Currently, the bulk of the data I extract comes from VISN data stores - populated from the VistA files. My expertise is in SQL coding, as well as other languages (such as PERL and JAVA), however, I'm finding that I will need to start working directly with the VistA file system. I have a small (and I mean small) MUMPS interpreter where I have been learning MUMPS.

Being a member of this group, I hope, will allow me to increase the skills necessary to interrogate the VistA files. There's a lot I don't know on the VA VistA system, and want to know more, as well as contribute to this group.

Rob

Welcome to mumpster Robert. You've found a good place to learn M[UMPS]. There many members of this forum that are VistA experts so feel free to fire away with any questions you may have.
