I am a MUMPS programmer specializing primarily in VISTA infrastructure (Kernel, Fileman) and HL7, XML and database theory, though I worked for a number of years on the IFCAP team, and loved it. My background is in mathematics (masters degree), and I think the way I approach software development is influenced by a more theoretical background. As a student, I programmed in Pascal, C, and (a little) Franz Lisp. I actually learned about MUMPS for the first time during an interview (I got the job). As a programmer, MUMPS and Racket (a dialect of Scheme) are my "native" languages (meaning languages of greatest fluency). I'm also an amateur photographer.
