Post subject:  Introduction: Greg Woodhouse

I am a MUMPS programmer specializing primarily in VISTA infrastructure (Kernel, Fileman) and HL7, XML and database theory, though I worked for a number of years on the IFCAP team, and loved it. My background is in mathematics (masters degree), and I think the way I approach software development is influenced by a more theoretical background. As a student, I programmed in Pascal, C, and (a little) Franz Lisp. I actually learned about MUMPS for the first time during an interview (I got the job). As a programmer, MUMPS and Racket (a dialect of Scheme) are my "native" languages (meaning languages of greatest fluency).

I'm also an amateur photographer. You can view my work online at http://www.gregwoodhousephoto.com or http://www.flickr.com/photos/gwoodhouse/.

Hi Greg, and welcome to Mumpster!

For those who don't know him, Greg is also one of the movers and shakers behind the Hardhats mailing list. He has volunteered countless hours to the community and is a man of integrity and careful judgment. I'm proud to know him.
